Tokyo Banana – I Love

Our Japanese counterparts visited us again for the second time this year last week. This time, they brought us another banana treat that I truly love and missed.

I started to fall in love with this processed banana 2-3 years ago when we were undergoing a search engine migration. Funny because we’re into another search engine migration these days, but that is not the primary reason why our JP team is here.

Tokyo BananaTokyo Banana is a very popular snack souvenir from Japan. I heard it’s quite pricey too. It’s a soft sponge cake with banana flavor filling inside. It smells really great that makes you want to eat more and more. Well at least that’s the effect on me.

Thanks to our JP team for this happy treat and good luck to all our projects! See you again soon.

Seeing your Doctor

If you know me very well, you know that I’m one of those people who are afraid to see a doctor when something is physically wrong. I used to be one of those people who refuses to see a doctor for whatever complain I have in my body simply because I’m afraid to know what the real score. I used to be that person. But somehow, things should really change. I hate it when people around me are getting stressed because of my condition. Thus, I make it a point to see a doctor when something about my body that really bothers me.

That’s exactly what I did last Wednesday.

I forced myself to come to work because of an important meeting, which turned out to be a complete waste of time. Good thing, upon arrival, I immediately told my boss that after the meeting, I shall leave the office to see a doctor. I had upper-right abdominal pains since Tuesday. It hurts and it is really uncomfortable but the pain is still tolerable, thus I was able to convince myself to go to work on Wednesday. Besides, that my corporate life at stake.

And so I saw my ob-gyne and she requested several lab exams plus an ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder. She said she suspects it to be gallstones. I panicked! I had normal delivery for Ayex and is sure that I can do that again this time. But if I have stones, I will never be able to escape the knife.

Yesterday, I had my ultrasound and the person who did it said I am clear. Praise God! Today, I got the official findings of all the tests I took and everything is normal. Praise God again!. I know it is scary but it is better to know asap than to know later when you can’t cure what needs to be cured.

Hubby of course is very relived with the news. I just hope we’ll have the same relief after MIL sees her doctor tomorrow. They been deferring the appointment since Monday even if we said it is important that she sees her dermatologist asap. The reason, nobody is there to take care of Ayex. And so, even if hubby can work at home, we to to his office as usual since they opted to just see the doctor tomorrow, when both hubby and I are home.

I hope none of you sissies are like the person I am before – afraid of the doctor’s findings. And I hope, that all of you out there are doing all your best to be healthy because we all know – Health is wealth.

Everything at Steak

This is where me and my teammates had an adventure lunch last December. We’ve been planning about it for months and I’m glad we were able to go there finally.

Luckily, we left our office in Eastwood at around 11AM. It gave us enough travel time to reach P. Guevarra – enough for us to have a parking area and enough for us to be seated and have ordered before the lunch crowd came. The place is not so big but is pretty popular so people from various places visit them for lunch or dinner and it can get pretty crowded.

According to Mark, they had a price increase. We thought it could be due to the renovation the place recently undergone. But while we were ordering, Mark realized it’s because of the additional side dish they’re now offering. The price is still very reasonable.

If I remember it correctly, almost all of us, except Dianne, ordered T-Bone steak. She ordered fish. The steak comes with rice, your choice of gravy plus a side dish (which can be another rice if you want). In my case, I opted for the original recipe gravy and mac and cheese as the side dish.

The service is fast, the serving is huge and the food is very tasty. I love everything except for my mac and cheese. I think the put too much cream on it and less cheese. My instant mac and cheese tastes far better. They cooked the T-Bone really well but remains juicy. They gravy adds to the beef’s tastiness that I ended up using Liana’s gravy as I finished mine already.

It was definitely a delicious steak adventure without spending big bucks. A big plus for someone who is not a steak fan like me. We only spent PhP195 each for our happy lunch.

I hope to bring my dad to that place this year. He loves steaks and I’m sure, he’ll like it there.
