Left Behind?

I grew up in a simple family. Both my parents were working outside home, there were five of us and we all go to school all at the same time at one point. We had times when we can live a luxurious life, we can eat what we want and buy what we want from the grocery. That was enough for us. We have our Tito who lives in Guam, mom’s younger brother, who help us in whatever way he could and we are super thankful for that.

And that childhood is what inspires me and hubby to do everything we can to give our children the life we did not have. In fact, maybe sometimes too much, that our eldest thinks she can have all her whims at once. If we do not give in, she will throw tantrums.

The latest hubby and I was discussing was about gadgets. Our eldest is really techie. Give her a phone and after a few hours, she knows where the games are and how to play it. She even knows how to shut down the laptop than my in-laws! And she is just 4-years-old. We have been browsing nintendo ds games online but I am not sure that is the best for her. And of course, I want to get us something than we can actually use as a bonding time. They say Wii is great for families. Do you have one? Do you agree?

I am not really so afraid that my girl does not own these gadgets yet and I think she is not yet left behind by her peers. For now, I guess we will just stick with her online games until we come up with a decision that will make in our priority list.

Sunday Blast

I know it is Tuesday already and that my title is kind of inappropriate but just allow me tell you a short story how we spent our Sunday.

Ayex woke up early again because she dozed off as soon as she got seated in her car seat from our MOA trip the previous night. She did not wake up even if we carried her out of the car and into the bed. She was really tired. Hubby, me and Maxyn woke up at around 8:30, just in time to prepare ourselves for church. I insisted that we hear that mass because we have a busy afternoon.

Our first stop was at Jollibee Pag-asa. It is the new branch along Mindanao Avenue, near Trinoma and SM North. Niegel Zach, Elaine and Marlon’s son celebrated his 3rd birthday. Elaine and Marlon are based and Singapore and they just had came home to celebrate their son’s big day. It never fails to amaze me how fast food chains are able to run a party program in just two hours. By 2:30PM, we are on the road again for our next stop.

We were bound to East Raya Gardens where Frankie, Portia and Juven’s daughter is celebrating her 1st birthday. I was not able to print the map beforehand and I was panicking because hubby hates driving without knowing where to go. I guess all people who drives hate that. Thankfully, after an hour, we arrived at the place and the party has not started. Maxyn and Yex both recharged on our way and they were really energetic during the whole party. Ayex had a total blast! She joined almost all the contests and won most of the time! She really loved the Micky Mouse Clubhouse theme. I will post the pictures and detailed stories in our family blog soon.

I am glad I am so used to finding kids birthday gifts that I can do it over and over again. In December, we will be attending another party. First, I have to check my girls’ wardrobe first if there is anything I can use as their costume. It will be a Toy Story themed party!

Richwell Club The Christmas Kids Craze Schedule

Among many other growing up behaviors I am faced now with Ayex is her bili-mo-ko (buy me) attitude. I guess it is her age and it is what she sees at school.

Just last week, while waiting at the ballet school, I told the other moms that Ayex is into Barbie now. No, not the dolls, but the accessories. The bags, clothes, and the like. I want to give her what she is asking for but the practical mom in me does not want to give in. Hindi maatim ng puso ko na bumili ng PhP500+ worth na 1 piece of Barbie clothing. So I said, I will just save and save and save so that when the Richwell Kids Craze sale is here, we can buy all the Barbie stuff she wants. I told the moms about how great this sale is. I told them to bring along someone who can line up while they get their stash because lines at the cashier are really really long! I told them that it is best to come on the first few days because sometimes, they ran out of stocks. And I also told them to bring loads of cash because they do not accept credit card payments. And lo, just the other night, I saw fellow mom, Peh, post the schedule of the sale!

Here is the schedule from Richwell Club’s Facebook account.

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
