This is the day when dawn mass or more popularly known as Simbang Gabi starts. It should be “started” actually since the first mass happened a couple of hours ago. I am kind of sad because I have not gone to a single Simbang Gabi mass since I got married. That is 7 years. I used to complete the 9 days dawn mass when I was single, with family and friends. We ate lugaw (rice porridge) at a carinderia located at the entrance of our village after every mass. I wish next year, the girls are older, we will be able to attend dawn masses. They should start practicing that little sacrifice if waiting for our Savior’s arrival.
Attraction by the Bay
Once my father just came home from the province, where he is already based. We went to SM Mall of Asia for dinner. It was kind of far from where we live but nearer to them so we agreed to just go there. While waiting for them, we stayed at the bay side. The girls love seeing the sea, although it is not entirely clean. We rode a couple of rides from the amusement park. Just when everyone is already there, a cultural happened. Yes, we watched a cultural show for free! The girls heard sounds of classic folk music instruments and even got a chance to play with them when the show was over! It was sooooo cool!
Drum and Lyre Corp
I was really interested to learn a musical instrument. I was a member of the Drum and Lyre Corp back in my primary days. I think I was in grade 4 when I started. We practiced every Saturday and the whole band, played in some important events in the area where our school is located like fiesta. Then in secondary level, I also joined this club (partly because I did not want to take up CAT when I reach senior level, hahaha!) I wonder of bands these days know about crash cymbals at Musicians Friend.
