Filbar: One of My Happy Stores

Our taste buds are growing tired of our menu. I checked the Umami magazine that came along with my gift pack from the EB last November and saw prospective recipes. Then it hit me. Maybe I should stock up on locally published magazines on food.

After learning that my thyroid is functioning normally from my follow-up check-up, I passed by Filbar at The Landmark in Trinoma. I was lucky because they have back issues on sale. I got four foodie magazines, two parenting magazines and two kiddie magazines. I paid about $14 for all the magazines. That amount is already huge for me but I think of them as investments. LOL.

Here is my stash. I haven’t flipped a page but I will in the coming days. I’m already excited to try the recipes!

Alex have not seen her magazines. I will give them to her one at a time, when she is exceptionally good as her reward.

No Holy Week Getaway

In a couple of week’s time, Lenten Season will officially start with Ash Wednesday. As early as now,I have been bugging hubby about our Holy Week plans. The past years, we have been hitting the road and spending it in other places. We spent 2009 in Ilocos and 2011 in Pangasinan.

This year though, we are preparing for some big moves but we are still discerning and trying to realize what God really wants for us. With that, hubby decided that we are not travelling for Holy Week this year. He joked that we will just bring out the kiddie pools that we have and just rent a swimming pool pump if needed.

The big plans entail a lot of moolah and I clearly understand that it is our priority rather than travelling. So maybe, we will just have a simple swimming party here at home. Maybe some of the kids’ friends can even join us!

Hair Products I Use

Good morning, everyone!

So I vowed to take care of my hair, right? I have been. In fact, I have been trying on different hair products to see which works wonders for my hair. You see, I have straight but unmanageable hair. When it dries, it looks like a strong wind blew it. But I do not want a straight and limp hair either. I just want something that is straight but with volume.

So far, here are some products that work for my hair.

  • Suave 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner – I use this every other day.
  • Pantene Smooth and Silky Conditioner – I use this everyday and I leave it on my hair for at least 5 minutes.
  • Sunsilk Hair Repair (Pink) – I use this at least once a month. I know I should use this once a week and I am working on that.

My MIL swears by virgin coconut oil and she says it is like doing your own hot oil treatment. I haven’t tried that though. I also saw that ds labs has great hair products. I will put these in my to-try list. I will just finish my current products.

How about you, what products do you use?

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
