Filbar: One of My Happy Stores

Our taste buds are growing tired of our menu. I checked the Umami magazine that came along with my gift pack from the EB last November and saw prospective recipes. Then it hit me. Maybe I should stock up on locally published magazines on food.

After learning that my thyroid is functioning normally from my follow-up check-up, I passed by Filbar at The Landmark in Trinoma. I was lucky because they have back issues on sale. I got four foodie magazines, two parenting magazines and two kiddie magazines. I paid about $14 for all the magazines. That amount is already huge for me but I think of them as investments. LOL.

Here is my stash. I haven’t flipped a page but I will in the coming days. I’m already excited to try the recipes!

Alex have not seen her magazines. I will give them to her one at a time, when she is exceptionally good as her reward.

Review: Chicco Shampoo

It was very timely that I won a gift pack from Richwell Club that contains Chicco products during the PMC 2nd Grand Eye Ball last November. Maxyn has consumed her soap and shampoo and it was time for me to open new ones.

kid shampooI got two shampoos, a big bottle and a small one. Since November, Maxyn has been using the large bottle of Chicco shampoo everyday.

What I like most about this shampoo are the following:

  • It has a mild scent that lasts very long.

Maxyn is one active baby girl. She loves the outdoors. As soon as she wakes up from her afternoon nap and is done with her snacks, she will give you her slippers, a signal that she is ready to go out. Despite spending hours outdoors, her head does not smell like sweat. The fragrance of the shampoo is still in her hair.

  • It is tear-free.

Maxyn is in her exploratory stage. Since then, whenever she sees bubbles, she tries to catch them and put them in her face, close to her mouth, nose and eyes. Sometimes, she accidentally put some bubbles in her eyes but she never cried.

  • It has a clear color and thick consistency.

The clear color of the shampoo kinds of give me the feeling that it has few chemicals as possible. As mom, don’t we all want our kids to be safe from harsh chemicals? As for the thick consistency, even if I only use a small amount, the lather is always enough for Maxyn’s hair, very economical to use.

I am not sure how much each bottle costs since I got ours for free. But if ever we ran out of it, I will sure buy this product again.

Zen Institute Timog

Last May, I availed of this Cash Cash Pinoy deal: Only 550 for a Slim Detox Treatment including Detox Drink and Ultra Lipotherapy at the Zen Institute. I read reviews of Zen Institute first before finally buying the vouchers. Yes, with an “S”. I bought four vouchers for myself and my SIL bought six vouchers and I ended up owning five of them. She was not able to use them all because she had to fly back to the states. Anyway, the Timog branch is the nearest to our place. I was able to ask hubby to drive me there during the past weekends because my vouchers are expiring soon.

At first, I did not want to believe my husband when he pointed me where Zen Institute is during my first visit. The photo in their Cash Cash Pinoy ads was very far from the facade in front of me. Now it got me thinking, maybe that is their branch in The Fort. This Timog branch has a small reception area. The cubicles has one single bed and just enough space for the therapist and the machine. They play really nice instrumental songs during my Saturday visits but none during my Sunday visits. Everyone is courteous and friendly even when they are having a toxic day (they were fully booked during one of my Saturday visit that they did not have time for lunch).

The place is also clean and the smell plus the music is very relaxing. In fact, during almost all my visits, I was able to take a power nap during my treatment. Except this once when the client and the therapist was talking about this best weight loss pills. I just cannot help myself from eavesdropping. Who would not want to know that information, right? But they were a couple of cubicles away from me and I cannot hear everything very clearly.

Wait for my post about the treatment itself, ok?

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
