Mommy Duties

Hi There!

How are you all doing?

I am just posting this quick one to let you know what I have been up to recently.

Well, I have been busy doing mommy duties and some errands to the city hall. I went to the city hall to fix our real property tax declaration. It is fixed now, thank God! The mommy duties, well, the usual stuff, plus more reviewing and assignments. Having a first grader who has new subjects is now starting to become challenging. It is like going back to my elementary days but this time, things are taught earilier. Alex was asked to memorize a four-stanza poem. She was able to memorize it perfectly in three days and was able to deliver it with little actions at school, in front of the class. After that poem, we tackled her first ever project, this time, for Science. It is a research project on the bad effects of certain scenarios to our body. I picked “lack of sleep” and “lack of healthy food in the body” because these are very applicable to her. I wanted her to take part in doing the project, instead of just getting every thing from the internet and just printing it. I made her draw pictures that depict the bad effects. Today, she reported her project at school and was given another commendation. Her story eased away all the stress we went through while doing her project. I am so proud of her!

Sorry for the post title, I cannot think of a more appropriate one. GTG!

Good job, Mommy! The girls are blessed to have a devoted and smart mom like you.

You are right about kids learning things way earlier now. And, they seem to have a lot of subjects in Grade 1! Feeling ko nga minsan, OA na. Haha. But I’m happy that our girls are taking in everything with some degree of eagerness. As long as they have a balanced childhood, I guess they’ll be fine, ‘no?

      Thanks, Connie!

I feel the same. Nagugulantang ako sa inaaral nila. Imagine sila Alex, yung Math nila ngayon, 3-digit addition na ang sagot ay thousands! While our kids are able to take in these things, I still feel uncomfortable.

Giving our children a balanced childhood is really important. Academics are important, yes, pero mas gusto kong makita ang solid values foundation sa mga bata of this generation.

And yes, laro-laro pa rin and relax-relax. 🙂

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions. Over the years, I realized that there is more to write about. Feel free to browse through and I hope you find a thing or two that is relatable to you. If that happens, give me a shout-out!
