After so much whining and complaining about how slow sapphire, this laptop, has become, I finally gave in and gave it another reformat.
When all is set and I was already fixing my back up files, I noticed that my WD External hard drive was not showing properly in My Computer.
It showed like this icon. The OC me was so bothered by this incorrect icon and I cannot proceed with fixing my files.
I was getting frustrated already and I was kind of lazy to read fixes available online. I read one about creating an autorun file from a text file. There was an existing one at the root folder of my hard drive and I thought I can edit that. But I keep getting permission errors. Either I delete that file or over-right it. So I rebooted the laptop on safe mode. Then I was able to delete the existing autorun file. Then another reboot.
When I opened My Computer, the icon is all fixed already! It shows that the autorun file may have been conflicting with the autorun file that is supposedly for the hard drive.
I miss that feeling. When you almost gave up, things will finally work your way!
