Where is the Cold Weather?

The previous years, around this time, it was already cold here where I live. We do not have winter but we still experience some cold breeze. It was actually enough for us not to use any air conditioning or electric fan anymore. Or if you do, come midnight, you will wake up just to turn it off because you cannot sleep anymore due to the extreme coldness of the weather.

The previous years, you will be able to go out with your scarves and bootie slippers on. I am no fan of these back then. Or maybe because I do not have them. And when I finally have my own pashminas, I cannot wear them because our weather now is not yet cold like what it used to be same time the previous years.

Previously, towards the end of the year, electric consumption remains the same even if you add Christmas lights and other decors because you cut on fan usage. But now, it feels like summer in December here in our country! And I read over at Facebook that this electric company increased their charges already!!! Why can’t they just do it after Christmas?!

So where is the cold weather now? Is climate change to be blamed for this? Is this our fault for being so neglectful of our nature? If it is like this now, what more when our children are a bit older? Maybe they will no longer experience any cold breeze at all. Or maybe, because of climate change, they will experience extreme cold, a real snowy winter season.

I am still hoping for some cold breeze this Christmas time in our country. I hope it comes soon and that we experience it even if we do not go to high lands like Baguio and Tagaytay. I am dying to wear my pashminas the way they should be worn!
