Card and Invitation Making

I think I was sleeping when God decided to shower people here on Earth with craftiness. Or maybe I was not born yet.

I used to not bother not being crafty and artistic. I passed my arts classes in school with whatever capabilities I have and I am contented with that.

But having children made me think otherwise. I think that parents like me should have a B to B+ rating in arts and crafts. Sad to say, I think I am a C or even C-! I think this is a necessary skill for us, parents, because through it, we will be able to hone our children’s imagination and their craftiness.

And so that is my dilemma the past few months. Actually, since the time Alex got interested in the jumbo krazy art studio set she received from her Tita Cel when she came home last summer.

She loves to draw using different media and her favorite is the water color. Whenever I do not allow her to watch the television, she diverts her attention to her toys. And when she is tired of them and bored, she will get her art set and requests for the table to be cleaned where she will work.

Also, since she got into this artwork thing, she has been making us cards. Her first ever card was a birthday card for my mom’s birthday. Since then, she has been making a birthday card for each celebrant. And she keeps on bugging me to help her until I finally give in.

So for this year, I think I will work on my craftiness. I started watching videos online and even checking out online shops about arts and crafts. I saw some great designer invitations which we can use for every occasion we may have. Aside from them, I also saw sleek and classy corporate invitations. I am checking out the latest card designs too. Some are kind of complicated and are beyond my skills. I am still looking for designs we can try to create ourselves.

Good luck to me!

We’re both absent. Hehe. I’ve never been creative and artistic. I hated Home Economics back in high school.
