I was feeding Maxyn just a few minutes ago when I thought of this. This is the first time that we are helper-less and I am home, full-time. So maybe I should put it into writing as a remembrance. I hope I can keep up with this as we all know that managing a home can be really draining at times.
So here we go.
At first, Ate Meriam wanted to leave while Maxyn is taking her afternoon nap and Ayex is at school. I said I do not like that. I told her she should say goodbye to the girls properly so they know. She did not approve it because she knew Ayex will be crying. I knew that but I have to let Ayex experience pain, frustration and separation too, right?
So Ate Meriam fetched Ayex from school. The school is a 10-minute walk from our home. It took them almost an hour. I knew they had a little bonding moment. When they arrived, Ayex showed me what they did at school plus the candies Lola Meriam promised her. Then I told Ate Yam to better get going as it is already getting dark. We accompanied her to the village’s gate where Ayex kept waving goodbye. Maxyn, she does not fully understand yet what is happening. I am thankful for that.
As we walk going home, Ayex clenched my arms and started giving small sobs. I knew she would cry again. We already talked about it the other night and I assured her that everything will be fine. But I knew that everything will be different when Ate Yam has really left. I was right.
When we got home, I pacified her. I let her watch dvd in our laptop, but she almost broke the dvd drive. Good thing I was able to pull the cd out. As she watches, I used the time to feed Maxyn dinner. As usual, this little tot kept on walking here and there while eating. We should really start using Ayex’s high chair again. She did not finish her food, maybe because she just fed from me.
When Ayex is done watching the dvd, Tatay started feeding her. I am still blessed for having company as I take care of the girls. After a few bites, she started acting like throwing up. I hate it when she does that! She took in a few more bites then she refuses to open her mouth as Tatay gives her food. I told her to tell Tatay if she is already full. She did not answer. That is another thing about Ayex that irks me these days. I do not know where she learned it as it happens very often. When you ask her something, she does not answer back even if she knows the answer, even if it is a plain yes or no. I raised my voice a bit then she started crying again. Then I reminded her to just tell Tatay if she is already full. When she is already sleepy, she acts a lot, as in!
Ayex told Tatay that she is full. So we brushed her teeth and changed her clothes. Then I tapped her in our bed. Outside, I am already hearing Maxyn’s cry. It is already her bedtime too and I have not cleaned her up. Ayex finally dozed off. Maxyn on the otherhand is still feeding from me although her eyes are already shut. The she started crying. I brought her outside for the fear that Ayex might wake up. I also took that time to eat dinner. My tummy was already growling at that time. But before I even finish my dinner, I heard Ayex cough and cry.
To cut it short, I put Ayex to sleep again after putting Mansanilla on her back. Maxyn finally dozed off for real after 4 tries. In between the tries, I was able to finish my food and clean-up a bit. She kept on crying and shouting as I do those things.
Now, they are sleeping quietly, but not in their respective positions. Ayex is sleeping in Maxyn’s place and Maxyn is in her Ate’s bed. I shall wait for hubby to arrive before I transfer them.
What a novel! Tomorrow is another day!
