On Children Portraying Serious Adult Roles

Goin’ Bulilit is one of the staple TV shows that we watch on weekends. It is a gag show featuring children covering adult roles in various comedic situations. One episode really makes us laugh. Even Ayex finds it pretty interesting. Last night, their episode is quite different. Unlike the usual one that has full of jokes, last night’s was quite dramatic and evolved on a love story.

I think children portraying an adult role in a comedic manner is ok. Their sarcasm make us laugh and sometimes, we learn from them. But when these children act on serious adult roles like husband and wife complete with a wedding is kind of awkward for me. I mean, Nash is probably only 12-years-old to be a groom and his partner is too young to wear a wedding gown!

I may be over-reacting or being my conservative self but definitely, I do not want to watch Goin’ Bulilit episodes like last night’s. I want the good-old jokes kids perform. Besides, these kids are too young to portray real-life drama.

Nicq… yan din comment ng mom ko yesterday when we saw it! I told her that most of the kids on that feature are probably “graduating” from Goin Bulilit (i.e. approaching teen yeras) that’s why they had to showcase their acting talents to get future projects. Since malalaki na sila, they can’t bank on the “cute” factor anymore. Pero yeah, that concept was a little too much. They should have done something where they can still portray kids in heavy drama roles.

During the last anniversary episode, I thought Sharlene and Nash were already graduating. Hahaha! I agree, the concept was too much. Nash is very good looking though in his outfits last night. 😀
