That New Year Post

Ok. I know sobrang late na nitong welcome New Year post na ito but let me know it anyway. Besides, Chinese New Year naman. 😀

Like everyone else, I would like to look back to the past year and see how it went. Astig yung Facebook Year in Review although it does not really cover the highlights in a month na gusto mo. Still, it is a good way of remembering the year that passed.

How do I start?

Alex graduated from pre-school in March with flying colors. Hindi ko talaga ni-expect but she did it!

Super-mom taga-hatid ang peg ko during summer. Alex went back to ballet and Maxyn started swimming. Alex really loves to dance. While I wanted her to learn how to swim too, hindi ko naman siya mapilit. Max on the other hand, sobrang bilis niya matuto at very brave! Naku pag nagkataon, mas magaling pa siya sa akin lumangoy! Max got her very first certificate too!

We were invited to become members of a ministry in the parish we are going to. Sino ba naman kami para tumanggi sa tawag ni Lord diba?

Before the school year started, we were fortunate to be able to move in to our very own home sweet home! The sweetest and grandest gift to date.

Then there’s our 7th year anniversary. And the new school year where Alex made it to the over-all ranking.

Pero sabi nga nila, hindi puro happiness ang buhay. Last year, 2 relatives joined our creator, one after the other. It was a sad moment for our extended family but we believe, everything happens for a reason and no one is in the position to question God’s plan. We simply pray to ask help so we may understand His mighty plans for us.

To date, members pa rin kami doon sa ministry na sinalihan namin kahit medyo malayo na ang parish na yun where we live now. I personally think na it helps us go through our daily life by serving God.

Wala akong resolution this year because I feel that I cannot keep up with them. I hate breaking promises. Instead, I will do my best to be a better person each day for everyone around me and of course, for myself. I also pray for good health for everyone and that this year, wala na munang wakes. (Actually, nagkaroon na. I pray na last na yun for this year.) Also, I sincerely pray for peace. And I pray na sana magtagal pa kami sa pagse-serve namin sa church.

Cheers to new hopes this year!

Add Oomph to Your Bathroom

Tired of the same old bathroom greeting you every morning? Looking to liven the place up with fresh fixtures or a new paint job? Here are five ways to add a little pizzazz to one of the most necessary rooms in your home.

1: Tile

Peel off that old, ugly tile and replace it with something new and gleaming. While ceramic is the most popular option for bathroom flooring, you can also look into laminate, vinyl and natural stone. You might also consider mosaic for extra personality.

2: Fixtures

Many bathrooms come with stainless steel fixtures by default, but do not let the design choices of previous occupants decide yours. Think about replacing your taps with brass or chrome, something functional yet entirely different.

5 Jobs for the One Who Loves Kids

Are you a perpetual Peter Pan? Do you still love fingerpaints just as much as your six-year-old self? Whether you are a kid at heart or just a big believer in the boundless joy of the younger generation, here are five jobs where you can channel your love of children into something worthwhile.

1: Teacher

The most obvious career for people who like kids, teachers are nonetheless one of the most vital parts of the economy. You’ll be laying the groundwork for all the future Einsteins and Gagas!

2: Social Worker

If you really want to make a difference in children’s lives, consider going to school and receiving certification as a social worker. The kids in the system deserve just as much love as kids from stable families.

3: Children’s Book Illustrator

Bring storybooks to life by becoming an illustrator who specializes in children’s books. You don’t even need professional experience to find work; just get in contact with agents and publishing houses and see if they’re currently accepting portfolios.

4: Children’s Voice Actor

While celebrities get all the big-name jobs, there’s always a need for someone to play secondary characters and background animals. Your passion, joy and enthusiasm will reach through the screen and help kids everywhere discover new worlds and learn important lessons.

5: Camp Director

If you don’t mind getting a little dirty, camp directors are surrounded by kids 24/7, playing in the same mud and running the same obstacle courses. It’s the perfect career for those who never quite grew up themselves!

Hi there! I'm Nicquee and this is my little space in this world wide web. I'm a mom of two and is happily married. I started this blog as literally my online journal where I dump my emotions.
