You know the saying Do not fix when it is not broken? I like this saying very much. I love keeping things simple. The simpler things are, the less prone to error they are, right? Not to mention, maintenance is easy too.
But in this era, upgrade has become a regular thing.
You have a mobile phone that allows you to contact people on the go, which is probably the reason why they were created. Then new units with new features started to come out almost every month, leaving your newly-bought-phone behind. And people, who knows no contentment, seeks that new model. This is true with any other gadget out there.
Upgrade has also become a regular thing for systems. And in this area, things become a little complicated. I am sure, you know what I am talking about.
This upgrade that Globe Telecoms is doing has brought so much inconvenience to us, their consumers, since February. From erratic signal to erroneous billing, name it, me and my family have experience it! My husband and I even had a fight because he thought, I was not answering his call but I was but I do not hear anything so I drop the line. That scenario happened to me many many times this year and it sucked big time!
The latest inconvenience we experience is with regards to their billing system. I never failed paying my monthly bill even if I do not receive a billing statement. I inquire my dues through my phone and whatever I get, I pay for it. But recently, I noticed that my due date was different and that there was a time when I have to pay twice a month. Having so many things to take care of, I simply pay without perusing the bill as I have none. To my horror, yesterday, my sister, who has three accounts under her name, told me she have the same problems. She talked to a customer representative for more than an hour just to understand why the number that my mom is using is being billed thrice her usual monthly consumption! It took so much time for us to understand why it was like that.
You see, my sentiments goes for those people who are too busy to examine very carefully their bills and they just end up paying them to avoid any more inconvenience and Globe Telecoms has been taking advantage of this.
My contract with them will end in October. Since I lost my phone recently, I am thinking of getting a re-contracting offer to get a free phone. But with the way things are going with this provider, I am really having second thoughts.
