I was asked this question many times already. I really think it can be a great conversation starter, if only the person who asked genuinely wanted to know and the person asked knows the answer.
I anticipated that my children will also be asked the same question in the future. I am actually practicing already in my mind how I will explain to them where their dad and I got their names. No, they are far from celebrity baby names but they are meaningful for us.I chose my girls’ name because I wanted them to have a sort of boyish nickname. I really think it is cool for a lady to have a boy’s name as her nickname. We are actually transitioning the eldest already from her baby nickname to this boyish nickname. She is still not use to it. Sometime she would correct me and sometimes she would not respond to me. Anyway, it is a work in progress.
Our youngest’s name is spelled quite uniquely, thanks to my sister who though of the idea. She does not have any baby nickname. We call her by her boyish nickname already. But sometimes it makes me think that she is confused because she does not respond to me also.
Many tell people tell me that the names I gave my princesses will give them a hard time at school, specially during examinations. Their two word names are kind of long and that they will be able to finish the test but not their names. (get the joke?) But I don’t believe them.
We know we gave the names that our children will build their character on.

As long as the name sounds good to me it doesn’t have to have any meaning.

Our children’s names are meaningful as well. We wanted Wrestley to grow up fighting for life and not be a quitter. She has the qualitieis of a wrestler. Myrrh Raquel is a miracle baby and continues to be so. We wanted Esther Grace to have the qualities of Queen Esther but seems to be lording it over her older sisters…even me. π

Name is something your child will bring forever , and it is good that the names you give to your princesses are with meanings and explainable π
