Fund Raising Through Bingo

Our home-owner’s association has lined up several projects last year and this year to improve our village. This is one of the perks I like in living in villages and subdivisions. The first is of course, secure living, the second is this, comfort living.

Early last year, they had bingo games to raise funds for a new steel gate for the main village entrance. They based all the patterns from a few online bingo variations. I did not know who won but I knew it was a huge success because after a few months, we already have the new gate.

I am not sure how the association decides how to distribute the cards to home-owners but for both the games last year, we were given ten cards, valid for all the games. In the February game, it was Ate Meriam who played while hubby and I played the November game.

Speaking of the November game, the association launched it to raise funds so they can build an outdoor playground for the village kids. It was a huge success too even if it rained a little. Villagers and non-villagers alike participated with much gusto and didn’t mind getting wet by the passing rain clouds at all. We did not get lucky but a group of non-villagers did. They took home one minor prize and the grand prize!

The playground is still not there but the area is now being prepared. I hope to see it real soon. I am sure, my girls will love playing there with the other kids!
