Meet my new toy, Violet, my 8gb PQI travelling disk. Actually, I only wanted the 4gb (when I saw it at cd-r king), but then again, looking in the future, and practicality wise, 8gb is the way to go! If you’d like to know the story why I had to upgrade from 1gb to 8gb, continue reading this entry.
It all started when my dad asked me if I can upgrade his machine so his Nokia pc suite can run on it. It took me 1 whole week to upgrade his machine. I installed Windows 2000, Office 2000, WinRar and PC-cillin 2007. After installing PC-cillin, I’m getting the your system is low on virtual memory error. I told my dad that we need to upgrade his memory. It was a challenge looking for SDRAM since we all know that it’s already obsolete. Thanks to SOS (Sale on Surplus shop), we were able to upgrade his memory from 64mb to 256mb! Finally I was able to install his Nokia pc suite, yahoo messenger and a web cam.
I told my dad not to store any of his files in his HD so it would only contain his OS and programs since he only have 3.15gb worth of HD! He asked me to buy him a 1gb flash disk. Then it got me thinking. I can give him my 1gb flash disk (from Trend Miicro) the I’ll buy a new 8gb flash disk since it’s no longer pricey. So now, I already have Violet and my dad have my old 1gb PQI USB flash disk.
