This blog should have been posted last Thursday. However, my day got so full and I’m so stressed out. Probably because my morning didn’t start right.
I’ve had so many encounters with these Metro Manila Development “Authorities” aka MMDA. But what happened that grueling Thursday morning is by far the most nerve-wrecking.
It was yet another hot morning. Mon and I have been commuting to work since Wednesday because ULY is in the shop for repainting. When I arrived in Philcoa, I was able to ride the shuttle right away because it’s still early. When I’m already settled, I took my hotdog sandwich and started eating my breakfast. After some minutes, we left the terminal. I noticed we stopped just before we reached the u-turn slot going to UP Campus. Then to my dismay, I saw 4 MMDA in front of us. Yes we are being apprehended. To make the matter worst, instead of allowing the shuttle to take the u0turn since we’re already causing the traffic to slow down, they told the driver to park all the way to QC Circle! Gawd!!! They started explaining to us why they apprehended us. I can hear myself saying to my fellow passengers “These are the people who uses are taxes!” And yet, they are such a pain!
We had no other choice. We tried hailing a cab but no one would like to stop for us. For one, we’re kinda out of the way. Second, if the MMDA is there, they think they might be apprehended too if they stop to pick us up. Gawd!!!!
Me and the other passengers (Anthony, Mad, Diane and Kat) end up taking the footbridge and walking all the back to Philcoa under the blazing sun! These MMDA! I hope we just revive those traffic lights. That way, we wouldn’t need traffic enforcers anymore!!!
